Job Description

Responsible for the overall creation, look and feel of assigned shows broadcast on DIRECTV’s exclusive 101 Network and n3D Channel.  Will work closely with the Senior Director to ensure the look and feel is in alignment with the overall brand with specific duties including:
- Editing, compositing and finishing long form shows, promos, teasers and sizzles.
- Story producing long form shows and using creative judgment to design and formulate the overall look and feel of the shows with guidance from the Senior Director and Executive Producers.
- Producing and editing short form “Behind the Scenes” pieces, show promos, teasers and sizzles.
- Breaking down shots in FCP to verify frame-for-frame accuracy.
- Maintaining the overall look and feel of 3D programming and adhering to strict 3D guidelines.
- Determining best approach to solve compositing challenges and developing final overall look.
- Collaborating with team members on project planning and meeting strict programming deadlines.
- Media asset management.
- Training and assisting editors using Final Cut Pro Studio, various digital media software and other technical issues as well as advising them on technical specs for DIRECTV broadcast standards.
- Assisting in managing the overall workflow and project assignments in edit bays.

Qualifications:

Requires five or more years in TV programming/content project and production coordination/management that includes experience in writing copy for promos and long form shows along with a thorough working knowledge of the latest in stereoscopic 3D technology and editing, Final Cut Pro Studio, color correction and broadcast standards and formats.  In addition, must have the proven ability to understand and interpret creative requirements to create an accurate representation of stereoscopic 3D and work in a team based environment, including maintaining open lines of communication with Graphic Designers, Audio Post-production and Creative Executives.  A degree in broadcast, media or related field is preferred.
 
Candidates must possess strong communication, presentation, problem solving, time management, organizational and analytical skills along with the proven ability to operate successfully within diverse, cross-functional groups and accommodate change.  Occasional travel may be required.
